Cheesy Potato Bake
Ingredients:
- 4 cups grated potatoes (about 4 large potatoes)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (or your favorite cheese)
- 1/2 cup sour cream
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 1 small onion, finely chopped (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika (optional, for extra flavor)
- Chopped green onions or parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
Step 1: Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Step 2: Prepare the Potatoes
Grate the potatoes using a box grater or a food processor. If desired, soak the grated potatoes in cold water for about 10 minutes to remove excess starch, then drain and pat dry.
Step 3: Mix the Ingredients
In a large bowl, combine the grated potatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, milk, melted butter, chopped onion (if using), garlic powder, salt, pepper, and paprika. Mix until well combined.
Step 4: Bake the Casserole
Pour the potato mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-55 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
Step 5: Cool and Serve
Once done, remove from the oven and let it cool for about 5-10 minutes. Garnish with chopped green onions or parsley before serving.
